Examples of Dreamcatcher Productions non profit work

At Dreamcatcher Productions, we love to use our skills to highlight work being done by some incredible people. We have enjoyed working with them and encourage you to learn more about their projects.

The Santa Shoebox Project – this project collects and distributes Christmas gifts for socially disadvantaged children around South Africa. Children and their parents have the opportunity to provide a uniquely personalised Christmas shoebox for children in need, some who may never have received a Christmas gift before. Find out more about the project.
The Dignity Project – Sanitary Sistas: Research has shown that there are approximately 9 million school going girls between the ages of 10 – 18 in South Africa.  Of these, 25% of girls do not go to school for one week per month, while they are menstruating.  The reason for this is that they have no means to acquire sanitary wear.  Having considered all these factors, the Businesswomen’s Association developed The Dignity Project which aims to provide underwear and suitable sanitary wear to school-going girls in impoverished urban, peri-urban and rural communities.
Dreamcatcher supports this initiative by creating videos clips which are used to create awareness of the project and during requests for support or funding.
Red Cross Children’s Hospital Pharmacy: While the pharmacy at this children’s hospital is technically not an NGO, they didn’t have any budget for this project. And as it’s such a worthwhile and progressive idea, we did it for them for free. Moms and dads typically spend quite a while at the pharmacy, waiting for the very specific medicine their child requires. Essentially this is wasted time. So we helped the pharmacy by creating some instructional DVDs that parents could watch (in three languages and subtitled) that not only explained the process at the pharmacy but also provided helpful medical advice. Here is an example of what the clips look like.
Ikusasa: a recently established cooking school in the Riebeeck West Valley, giving young recipients in the area an amazing opportunity to learn a valuable skill.
